.create a saint.
Princess Caraboo
Patron Saint of Cosplay
My entry for Draw Things this month. Not entirely finished, but I was pressed for time. You can read about Princess Caraboo, aka Mary Baker here. The image is based on a portrait of her from the time, and her necklace is inscribed with her true initials, M.B.
If I get time to work on this more next week I'll post a revision, but for a 45 minute job - not terrible.
And yes, I absolutely stole the frame from an actual icon of Saint Vladimir.
Like I said, pressed for time.

.how to mango.
Also, I'm now feeling inclined to do a whole series of Horse -vs- Mango. Especially if anyone would be interested.

.Draw Things Challenge - Fail.
The challenge this month was "Self Portrait with Beastie" which sounded fun and awesome and I had a few ideas but I never once got enywhere even close to drawing any of them out at all.
Or sketching.
Or anything.
So chatting with my husband (who runs things) two hours after all the entries were due I suddenly remembered that I had done a "Self Portrait with Beastie" about a week before the challenge was called.
And completely forgot about it.
Because my brain has been working so well lately.
So I had a piece, and basically forgot to send it in. Like a genius.
Also I made some more fan art/jewelry this week, and just in case you thought Doctor Who was my only Fandom, think again!

Draw Things....
This months theme was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" which I shamelessly confess I never watched or read when I was little, and have no interest in even now. But I drew something anyway...

.crossover.
The Draw Things Challenge this month was "crossover" - I wasn't planning on doing anything (I'm very VERY busy) but this sort of happened while I was trying to do some actual work at my actual job.
Not so bad...

DNA & Dirigibles
Also, I'm completely scrambled for topics if I win this months Draw Things.
Suggestions?

.beez.
Last month I cheated horribly to win the Draw Things thing. Then I got to pick the topic for this months Draw Things. I went with:
Today was the submission day. I diverged from my usual inkwork and went 100% digital. Here's what I came up with...
Bees: Masters of Time and Space

.the.future.of.botany.
This months Draws Things challenge stumped me way more than I initially guessed it would. And my first piece - which is posted below - wouldn't work in the end because the medium for the group, Facebook, won't let you zoom in on pictures (at least as far as I'm aware) and the piece just doesn't make sense with the theme unless you can see the tiny baby fetuses in it!
So I took a step back, rethought, and came up with this:
Because it's the future of Botany - the future of the study of plants, and who's going to be studying plants in the future? Maybe a cephalopod....

.Draw.Things.Rebirth.
I've been piddling around this topic all month, unable to get past my initial response to the topic, a chrysalis.
And still unable to get past it - I filled my chrysalis with bunnies, because I'm very very sleep deprived from staying up too late painting last night, and all I want to do is fall asleep in a pile of baby bunnies.
I mean, it sounds nice in theory, right?
