.hermitting but not dead.

I spent the last few weeks recovering from a crazed schedule and getting back in touch with my inner maker. I made many things - which are slowly trickling onto the etsy site because once again, I need to get them out of my house.

.costuming.

Every once in awhile as a performer you realize that you've gotten yourself down to one costume you love that you wear all the time.
And that's just...not so good.

So I've been sewing furiously for the last few weeks, trying to put together some new digs. It's slow, and painful, but so far everything is turning out quite nicely...

...and then it was Wednesday.

Last week, immediately after getting back from Waking Persephone (which I still have not fully processed yet), I spent two joyful days fretting about my taxes getting done on time.
And then three more days fretfully preparing for both Raqs Bohéme on Friday night, and Warrior Weekend all day Saturday (at which I was both teaching and performing). Somehow I got through both, and managed to completely forget to take any pictures (though I did record a video of me putting on my stage makeup Saturday, which I'm in the process of editing).
Mugur Photography took this picture though:

Really good example of lighting washing out makeup right there.

And I thought I was going to have Sunday off, to relax and recharge and play video games, but Friday I'd gotten word that the new gallery wanted me to hang work today, Wednesday, so I've spent the last 3 days working furiously on that.
In theory I should now have a few calm days - to reflect, relax, and maybe start working on one of those new costume ideas I had. But given recent trends, something's bound to rise up and smoosh that thought as well.

Cheers!

.happy.v.day.

And here it is - that day of days which I have tried my best to ignore for most of my life.

Of course, now I officially can't, as it's the one year anniversary of me and my Mister getting engaged. This year, in order to celebrate my getting one step closer to being a normal girl (but who are we really kidding?) I thought it would be a stunning idea to make valentines for all of my nearest and dearest.
And in typical fashion, I completely forgot to mail them.

But it's never to late really....right?

I also forgot half of my lunch today and I'm really hungry. Anyone want to bring me some noodles?
